Regulatory Changes

ERAC / EESS Regulatory authorities are reviewing the rules around model references, in particular the use of supplementary suffixes (and the associated spacing / separation of such suffixes from the model “number” that will appear on the EESS product registration database).

It is noted that it must be possible for anyone in the supply chain (importers, wholesalers, retailers, consumers and regulators) to locate level 2 and level 3 equipment in the EESS database by searching on a brand/model “number” combination. Wildcards, legends and other “non unique” coding does not easily allow such searches.
